car shopping.

As a lot of you already know,
we were having issues with our car.
The car we just bought 4 months ago.
One day after taking dinner to a friend it started acting up not wanting to go over 40mph.
I restarted it and it worked fine for a bit and then started again.
This was only a few days before we were supposed to leave for our Christmas vacation.
So we decided to wait until we got back to send it in to find out what was wrong with it.
Fast forward to last week.
Sent it in to get looked at and they came back and said they couldn't find anything.
Nothing.
This annoyed me because I KNEW something was wrong with it.
And it wasn't a small something either.
This frustrated and scared me.
This is the car I drive my children around in.
On highways.
(have you seen our highways??!!)

Long story short,
neither one of us fell in love with that car.
It never felt right.
And the company we bought it from was not helping matters.
(That's another post for another time. It's a long story)

So we went car shopping yesterday.
Basically it was a fact finding mission.
The goal was to see how much we would be given for our car and see what was out there.
A friend had recommended a dealership about 45 minutes from us, swore we wouldn't be disappointed.
And we weren't.
We ended up driving our new car home last night.

It's a Chevy Malibu.
Silver.

Yes, we took a hit on our trade in.
Not as bad as it could be, that dealership was amazing with us.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely.
The trade in estimator who drove our car told us that there were transmission issues.
He drove our car around the block, once.
And the dealership we bought the car from drove our car for 2 days, swore there was nothing wrong with it.
This just reinforced the fact that we needed to get out of this car.

The best part - Free oil changes for the life of the car.

My second favorite part?

It lights up blue.
Even the door handles. =)

HEY NOW! I never got free oil changes! I'm gonna go whine, lol. Congrats on the new car, it's a beauty. And hopefully the other dealership you bought the old one from will get what's coming to them =)
