Hello Mabel!!!

I'm sorry my entry for the day is a little late... I was up off and on all night with a new puppy. Yes, we got our new baby early. The guy that we got her from wanted the puppies to go home yesterday so he could have new carpet laid today. Richard was home from work yesterday (more on that later), we were actually grocery shopping when we go the call to come get her. So we drove up to get her and drove back home stopping at PetSmart on the way. We weren't fully ready for her yet. As luck would have it they were having a pretty good sale this holiday weekend. With their perks card we got a kennel for her that was normally $70 for $40. Good deal. Her water and food dish that I was planning on getting was on sale too. On our way out of the store one of the employees started talking with us about Mabel and she asked if we wanted to take her back to their pet center and get her nails trimmed... For free!! (I'm really starting to like this place...)

Mabel did pretty good her first day here. There was only two accidents in the house. One of each. She was not fond of sleeping all night though. Richard and I thought maybe we should just put her in with Bryce since they seem to have the same thoughts of sleeping through the night. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Last night we also decided to celebrate Baylie's good report card with pizza (with ham), cookies and cream ice cream, and a movie. We watched Finding Nemo, a definite favorite at our house.

This weekend is Memorial Day and Richard has what us military families call a 96. He's got a 4 day weekend in honor of Memorial Day basically. As a military family this holiday obviously means more to us than just the start of summer and a guaranteed good bbq or two.

Hopefully this weekend you can take a few minutes to think of some of the many, many that this holiday was named for. If you need some inspiration or a family to say an extra prayer for this weekend before you chow down on your yummy food feel free to think of Mrs. P and her family, including her sweet little baby girl who will never get to meet her Daddy. I know Cpl. Porto and his family will be in my thoughts this weekend.
