The life of a Marine Brat

Yesterday was a sad day for Miss Baylie. She had to say goodbye to her best friend, Aija. Aija's Dad is in the Coast Guard and they moved to their next duty station in St. Petersburg, FL. Baylie and Aija have been best friends since the day she started school at Daphne East. They rode the bus to and from school sitting next to each other and were in the same kindergarten class.

This is one of the few times that it was Baylie being left behind. It's usually us that moves away. I'm not sure which way is easier. I know that the rest of Baylie's school years will be spent with on active duty, so unfortunately she will have several more leaving her friends/friends leaving her experiences. Baylie and Aija are going to be penpals, and she's looking forward to sending out that first thoughtfully designed envelope.
